Business Associations

Tricorona is an active member of the leading business associations that shape the carbon markets. A sound knowledge of the workings of these associations and an active role within them has put Tricorona at the forefront of ongoing climate change negotiations. Furthermore, having strong relations with fellow members of these organizations, Tricorona can readily tap in to expertise in all sectors and countries.

Carbon Markets & Investors Association (CMIA) is an international trade association that was created to promote market-friendly climate change policies. CMIA has close to 50 member companies including financial institutions, investment funds, project developers, verifiers and emissions brokers. CMIA actively engages in the design of new market mechanisms to promote climate mitigation activities at lowest possible cost to society. Membership within CMIA allows Tricorona to effectively reach out to regulators such as the UNFCCC, the European Commission and the CDM Executive Board.

 

International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) is a non-profit business organization with the purpose to establish a functional international framework for trading in greenhouse gas emission reductions. IETA has more than 155 member companies and established partnerships with the World Bank and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) to mention a few. Tricorona is an active member, with lead participation in the IETA CDM-related working groups, as well as panel discussions and high-level sessions during the most important carbon market events such as Carbon Expo and Carbon Forum Asia.

 

Project Developer Forum (PD Forum) is an initiative to give a collective voice to represent the interests of companies developing emission reduction projects in international markets. Its member companies include all of the major CDM project developers.Tricorona is one of the founding members of this forum with staff represented on the Executive Committee. The forum organizes extensive capacity building and outreach activities to support less experienced developers and countries and to encourage constructive dialogues with all involved parties to find common ground to improve CDM rules and regulations. Regulators regularly reach out for consultation to members of the forum, which has established itself as a responsible partner in the carbon markets.

 

Singapore Business Federation (SBF) is an organization supporting the interests of the Singapore business community in trade, investment and industrial relations. SBF represents more than 17,000 companies as well as local and foreign business chambers and key national and industry associations. Tricorona is a participant in events organized by the federation including business delegations and networking events.

 

Swedish Business Association of Singapore (SBAS) was established in 1982 for the purpose of empowering the Swedish business community in Singapore and to facilitate business opportunities. Tricorona has been a member of SBAS since 2009 and regularly participates in business delegations arranged by the associations as well as luncheons featuring key note speakers, networking events as well as social activities directed at the Nordic business community in Singapore.
