Tricorona signs CER Purchase Agreements with Eco Carbon

The projects are expected to generate a combined total of 100,000 CER per annum.  The projects employ FaL-G technology in brick manufacturing facilities for production of alternative building materials.  The technology requires no sintering process thereby avoiding the use of the fossil fuel (coal) in the brick production process.  The Fal-G bricks and blocks provide an alternative to the traditional burnt clay bricks that require the consumption of fossil fuel.

Tricorona will act as the CDM developer and expert including building the business case to insure a take-up of participants and to leverage economies of scale where possible for the successful implementation of hydro power projects in Rwanda, resulting in real and measurable emission reductions under the Clean Development Mechanism.

The joint action aims at improving the geographical distribution of the Clean Development Mechanism whilst supporting Rwanda in its ambitious strategic objectives for the energy sector.

Australia's House of Representatives passes key climate bill

The law will now go to the Senate, where it is expected to pass with ease as the ruling coalition holds a comfortable majority. The law calls for the implementation of a carbon tax of AU$ 23 on the country’s 500 biggest polluters from July 2012, which then in July 2015 will develop into a trading scheme with a floating price. When this happens, participants are allowed to use CERs for compliance to an amount equal to 50% of their compliance needs.
